Celebrating the light that brought us to life.

Celebrating the light that brought us to life.

Ann was so passionate about the idea of professionals coming together to debate and discuss digital finance. It was her enthusiasm, facilitation skills and tenacity that drew people to Community of Practice (COP) meetings and this drove the formation of the Digital Frontiers Association (DFA). She was a champion of empowering people and constantly questioned, challenged the status quo.

In the early days of the formation of the DFA Ann advised and advocated for empowerment of others especially women. It was this kind of mindset that ensured DFA could continue to exist after her loss in the capable hands of those she had inspired to take up various board positions.

Her voice remains with us through the activities of the DFA constantly reminding us about the value of collaboration and connection.

She had such a great mind, a person of integrity, an open minded trend setter who inspired many with her creativity and collaboration gifts in addition to her infectious smile and hearty laughter. It was difficult not to join her causes.

When she passed on last year, Digital Frontiers Institute (DFI) – South Africa offered scholarships to 4 young vibrant women in memory of her. These young women all successfully completed and passed the DFI flagship course – CIDM (Certificate in Digital Money) and are impacting different sectors today. Through this her legacy still lives on to empower others to grow and impact the society in digital Finance and financial inclusion.
